Research Initiatives

Research Initiatives

The College has always committed to research for both faculty and students. The culture of the college has forever been to promote and encourage faculty to pursue research. Almost all of our faculty are Ph.D holders. Ours is a distinctive teacher education college that has encouraged FIP teacher fellowships which allows the faculty to concentrate full time on their Ph.D by applying for two year study leave.

Major and Minor research has been the focus too and very recently the college completed a Rs. 8 lakh grant project to training in-service teachers for Action Research. Our student teachers are encouraged to carry out interesting Action Research Projects in their area of interest.  Our faculty is invited from time to time as experts to deliver lectures on Research in Education.

The college endeavors to provide international exposure too to aspiring researchers.  Some of our international engagements in the past few years are:

  • Two experts from The UTS University, Sydney, Australia – Prof Heather Goodall and Dr. Devleena Ghosh engaged researchers with a session on Historical Research in 2018-2019.
  • In 2019-2020 Dr. Galit Caduri from Gordon Academic College of Education, Haifa, Israel took a session on ‘What’s the Story of Narrative Research in Education’.
  • An online session ‘Navigating the Research Journey’ was also organized in 2019-2020 where Dr. Gopal Midha from Virginia University, USA acquainted the aspiring researchers with his research journey.
  • In 2020-2021, our students carried out collaborative Action Researches in association with faculty members from Gordon Academic College of Education, Haifa, Israel
